Direct Marketing Manager (fixed-term contract for 9 months) - Vauxhall, London
Closing Date: 23/05/2008
Reference: 2328
Salary: circa £45,000 plus benefits
This role has a high internal profile, responsible as it is for recruiting and developing the organisation's largest stream of new donors to add to a steadily growing base of loyal supporters and for income and expenditure budgets of £16m and £4m respectively.
The role also provides guidance on response generating marketing activity which takes place outside the DM programme and will be at the forefront of Macmillan's work towards integrating fundraising and brand activity. It is also instrumental in helping to establish the evidence-base upon which future supporter relationship management work can build across other fundraising teams and products.
This postholder will excel in the planning, development and evaluation of a multi-channel DM programme and in leading and supporting an excellent internal team and strong external agency partners in their management and implementation of DM campaigns.
This role is responsible for line-managing 2 Senior Direct Marketing Officers as well as the Direct Marketing Assistant.
2007 was a record-breaking year for Macmillan's DM team, with more income generated to support our work for people living with cancer than ever before. Our ongoing brand activity is giving Macmillan greater visibility and generating higher levels of public awareness all of which support our ambition to broaden our appeal and generate enough funds to be there for all people affected by cancer who want or need us. If you are an experienced and confident multi-channel direct marketing professional who would relish the chance to steer an already high performing team and programme on to even greater heights and in doing so play a crucial role within the UK's leading cancer care charity then this is the role for you.
Detailed performance analysis and market leading creative development are already second nature to you and your strategic development experience is clearly demonstrable. You're self motivated and a natural leader, used to being held fully accountable for your programme's performance and for building strong relationships in order to drive the best performance possible from suppliers, both internal and external.
