Donations

Employee or membership fundraising

Whether you would like to improve internal communication, motivate your staff or members, promote creativity or just have a lot of fun for a worthwhile cause, Macmillan is the ideal charity to work with on membership fundraising

We can work with you on an individual, branch, local or UK-wide level to help you create a tailored programme, including Macmillan events, workplace activities, bespoke initiatives or individual challenges, from the London Marathon to hiking in the Sahara.

Events

Organising an event in aid of Macmillan is a great way to involve your staff, members, customers, clients or even suppliers in your fundraising activities. We can provide tailored fundraising packs to cover everything you need to help plan your event and get people involved.

Events can be local or national, and provide excellent opportunities for PR. Our national events include the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, Longest Day Golf Challenge, and Walk Wonders. We also run various challenge events from the London Marathon to hiking across the Sahara. Your staff can take part in these as individuals, or we can put on a challenge event specifically for your organisation.

Cause-related marketing and joint promotions

Cause-related marketing (CRM) involves linking a corporate brand or product to a charitable cause such as Macmillan. A recent study by Business in the Community found that 80 per cent of all consumers who have taken part in a CRM programme continue to feel positive about the company.

Payroll giving

Payroll giving is a simple, tax-effective way for employees to give to a charity of their choice. Setting up a scheme is easy, and the costs are minimal. Employees simply authorise their payroll department to deduct their donation from their regular pay packet. And because the deductions are made before tax, employees get the tax relief straight away.
