Wendy Davis
Challenge Eventer Wendy Davis raised almost £4,000 by cycling across Vietnam in memory of her dear friend Griff.
This is an amazing achievement especially when you consider that Wendy has had to overcome her own serious health problems too. Wendy had a great time and urges anyone who has been considering doing something like this to get on and do it!
"What an amazing experience, amazing country, amazing people, amazing culture and an amazing achievement for the whole group to have completed the challenge.
"There were 49 people who eventually took part, all shapes, sizes and ages! We cycled through lovely lush countryside, up steep hills and mountains, past terraced paddy fields, through vibrant jungle vegetation. We saw children who bounced up and down with excitement as we cycled along. We passed through fascinating tribal villages and dusty old towns. We cycled in temperatures over 100 degrees, we cycled in the rain, and we cycled through cloudy mountain passes. We were hot, wet or covered in mud!
"We chatted, laughed and cried together. Everyone had their own story and purpose. I cannot express what an amazing experience this journey has been, but what I can do is encourage you to have a go and take part in a Macmillan Cancer Support Challenge."
