Hollyoaks stars create a huge stir
Macmillan Cancer Support visited the Hollyoaks film set this week as five of its biggest stars took time out to show support for their flagship fundraising event, the World's Biggest Coffee Morning.
This is one of the UK's largest fundraising events which saw an estimated 2 million people raising their mugs for Macmillan last year.
Together with the fundraising team, the cast are hoping that as many people as possible hold a coffee morning on 28th September. Character OB, played by actor Darren Jeffries, already a regular supporter of Macmillan is proud to be behind the event, and has said:
"Myself and the cast of Hollyoaks are proud to support Macmillan Cancer Support's World's Biggest Coffee Morning 2007. We really do hope that as many people as possible in Chester and surrounding areas are able to support this event and hold a Coffee Morning on 28th September. The work Macmillan Cancer Support does within the local community is invaluable to many families and individuals who are affected by cancer, and I really do hope that the team can reach their £20,000 target for the area!"
Marie Travers Fundraising Manager and Aimee Scally Community Fundraiser for Chester, are working hard within the local area to urge local people to take part and get involved. Marie said:
" We would like to thank Darren and the rest of the cast for giving time to support Macmillan Cancer Support and The World's Biggest Coffee Morning. It is brilliant to see so much support from local and loved personalities. And don't forget that everybody that registers within Chester will automatically be put into a free draw for the chance to win the Chester City FC family ticket, and tickets to our Christmas Carol Concert at Chester Cathedral on December 3rd.…So lets get registering!"
It is easy to take part, simply register, decide on a suitable location (at the office, at home, at school, anywhere you like!) and invite work mates, colleagues, friends, and family to make a donation in exchange for the coffee they drink and the treats they eat.
