Hoylake Fundraising Committee

Local Hoylake Fundraising Committee are this week celebrating raising over £284,000 in 32 years for Macmillan Cancer Support, after raising another £2,470 at their Tesco Collection held at the Heswall Store on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 October. Lesley Tomkinson, the Committee's Chair from Oxton, and the rest of the Committee are overjoyed at the amount raised at the Tesco store and would like to thank each and every customer who donated on the day.

Marie Travers, Macmillan Fundraising Manager for the Wirral is well aware of the time and commitment needed to raise such fantastic amounts of money as this, and is extremely proud of the committee's achievement.

The amount of money the group has raised goes miles towards achieving Macmillan's big ambition of reaching EVERYONE affected by Cancer by 2010. The money raised has helped to fund 39 Macmillan Professionals based in the Wirral, thousands of pounds given to Wirral people affected by Cancer in Macmillan grants, Macmillan Information and Support Centres, Benefits Advisors and much more"
