Local Howley Dairy Crest, and Lymm based GP Broadsmith & Son dairies both put on their walking boots over the last few months, and stepped to work together with their local customers and community to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support through donations in special Milkmen Envelopes. Time and enthusiasm from each milkman and customer resulted in Dairy Crest raising £1,520 and GP Broadsmith & Son raising £552…a fantastic grand total of £2072!
Marie Travers Fundraising Manager, and Aimee Scally Community Fundraiser for North West Cheshire are both extremely grateful to both dairies, and every customer who chose to support Macmillan Cancer Support and the Milkman Challenge. Marie Said:
"Myself and Aimee appreciate, and would like to recognise each and every person that took part in the challenge; We have a great big ambition to help EVERYONE affected by cancer, an ambition that we really could not achieve without this kind support and donations. The milkmen Challenge has really enabled us to be out there working with, and most importantly for the local community. Thank you very much"
Harry Roscoe, Manager at Howley based Dairy Crest said:
"We are all delighted to have been able to raise money for Macmillan. I'm sure many of our customers and members of the local community have had some experience of the impact of cancer on their family and friends, and if we can help raise funds for Macmillan to improve the lives of those affected by cancer then we are delighted to do so. The lads have been great in backing this challenge and really getting involved with managing the envelopes. Well done to everyone. Now onto The Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning"
The milkmen are now urging local people to get together and host a Coffee Morning within the local area…What better way to enjoy the delivered milk than with lots of Coffee and Tea wherever it may be with whoever you like whether it be work mates, colleagues, friends, or family in exchange for the coffee you all drink and the treats that you all eat. Also Everyone who registers within Warrington will also get the chance to win a Signed Warrington Wolves Shirt.
