Sarah Hawkins and her team gave us another wonderful Swim across the estuary from Padstow to Rock and we owe especial thanks this year to the Hotel Metropole as always, to Sharps Brewery for sponsoring the party at Rock at the finish and to Fishermens Friends for singing the swimmers in. We have never seen so many gifted youngsters beating the experienced triathletes! First was15 year old Calum Jarvis from Tredrizzick, in 14 minutes 55 seconds, closely followed by older brother Jack. Third was 14 year old Rosie Andrews from Golant and oldest swimmer was 66 year old Mick Glossop from Newquay. Unfortunately some swimmers coming down for the event were caught in the massive holdup on the M5, but the turnout was excellent and the conditions a huge improvement on last year's event.
