Nick Seaton Burridge and Rob Nolan start as they mean to go on
Vehicles including a 1932 Austin 7 Ulster, which had already completed the previous four events, closely followed by a 1933 Alvis Firefly, have navigated the 1,200 mile adventure from Cape Cornwall to Cap Ferrat, near Bordeaux.
Experienced and successful historic rally and trials competitor, Dennis Greenslade from St Ives had plotted a devious route using the notorious trials hills in the county, prior to a ferry crossing from Plymouth to Roscoff.
Unfortunately heavy rain dogged the event drenching those in open cars and leaving their closely guarded maps of France reduced to pulp. Though a conducted tour of the Martell brandy house soon helped to raise morale!
Whilst funds are still being received it is expected that another £40,000 will have been raised for Macmillan Cancer Support, bringing the total to in excess of £260,000 from the five tours - an astonishing amount.
Thank you to all the valiant participants, the marshalls and of course to Dennis 'Boss Man' Greenslade and Philip 'Junior Boss Man' Mitchell for their amazing endeavours.
