East Sussex committees
We have local fundraising committees across East Sussex who organise many wonderful fundraising activites for Macmillan. We would like to introduce you to them.
Uckfield Committee
Last year, Uckfield Committee had a wonderfully successful year holding various events such as their annual golf day, a Midsummer Madness Ball and their regular Burns Night. Lots of fun was had by all whilst a terrific amount was raised for local people affected by cancer in East Sussex.
Eastbourne Committee
Eastbourne is a newly formed committee and made a fantastic start to their fundraising for Macmillan in 2006. They organised numerous successful collections, events and donations and we are delighted to have their support and commitment.
Wadhurst Committee
This committee had a great 2006 which culminated in a lovely Christmas Lunch and Flower Decorating session.
Lewes Committee
Lewes Committee continues to go from strength to strength. Following a fantastic World's Biggest Coffee Morning event with their local MP, Norman Baker, held at the Wyevale Garden Centre, they went on to organise a Bridge Drive and have planned lots of exciting activities for 2007.
Brighton & Hove Committee
Brighton and Hove Committee organised a number of successful collections and various exciting fundraising events last year. They held a fashion show in May, a dinner dance in August and finished the year with a terrific annual draw and Christmas luncheon.
Hastings and St. Leonards Committee
This committee had a very successful year, undertaking various fundraising events including quizzes, coffee mornings and collections. They had their annual birthday lunch in November which was attended by Peter Cardy, Macmillan's Chief Executive in 2006.
Little Common and Bexhill Committee
The committee incorporated a number of new events into their fundraising programme last year, including a St. Patrick's Day wine and cheese party and catering for a St Johns Ambulance lunch. They also organised a successful Open Garden followed by an Autumn Fayre in November.
We are very grateful to all our committees in East Sussex for their continued support and through their fundraising efforts Macmillan is able to continue helping local people affected by cancer in Sussex.
