Spit roast success in Lewes!
The Lewes Committee held their Hog Roast on Friday 27 June and it was a resounding success.

Following a week of beautiful weather, it was only natural that it decided to blow a gale on the day of the event. However, the committee refused to be defeated and pressed ahead with their first ever hog roast.
The event went incredibly well, selling out way in advance with 140 local residents turning up on the night to taste the pork. Music was provided by local jazz band, The Cherry Trio, and despite being windswept, children and adults alike enjoyed a 'crackling' evening, which raised over £1,400 for Macmillan.
Tris Jones, Sussex Community Fundraisers and emergency gazebo support, attended the event:
'It was absolutely fantastic. I have never been to a hog roast before, but I'll make sure I'll go again. The food, provided by the committee, was really tasty and it was good to see so many people enjoying themselves and having a real good time. A huge well done to everyone on the Lewes Committee for organising such a professional event.'
Tony Green, one of the event organisers, was asked how he felt it went. He was unavailable for comment as he had been blown away!
