Celebrating the success of Macmillan in Hampshire
Macmillan supporters across Hampshire attended a rally held at The Ark Conference Centre at Basingstoke on 25 April.
The rally provided an opportunity to say a huge thank you to local supporters for all their hard work throughout the year, and to celebrate both local and national achievements.
The challenges for the future were also outlined, as well as looking at how we will be acheiving our aim of reaching everyone affected by cancer by 2010. Many supporters were also very moved by Macmillan Benefits Advisor, Elaine Erskine's moving account of her work, and the incredible difference she makes to the lives of people affected by cancer.
Macmillan' s Chief Executive Ciaran Devane was delighted to attend the event, as were newly appointed Mayor of Basingtoke Cllr George Hood and his wife Davina. The Hampshire Fundraising Team is thrilled that Cllr Hood has chosen Macmillan Cancer Support as one of the beneficiaries of the Mayor's Charity Appeal.
