Neil Evans and Matt Bailey
Neil Evans and Matt Bailey decided to organise a charity football match when Ivan Mitchell, a friend and colleague, was diagnosed with cancer in the early part of 2006.

Since then he has been through rigorous treatment and operations. Unfortunately, having thought he'd got through the worst of it, the cancer had spread. Ivan is now enduring further treatment in the form of chemotherapy in the hope it will give him a better quality of life. Ivan has shown us all, that he is a very brave young man and has remained upbeat throughout. It is Ivan's decision that all funds raised from the match should go to Macmillan Cancer Support in Hampshire, who has provided great dedication through such difficult times.
The game was kicked off by former Brighton & Hove Albion player Peter O’Sullivan. The match itself was played in a good spirit by both sets of players. Evans Eleven were 3-0 up at half time, but Bailey’s Braves hit back with a couple of goals in the second half to make it an exciting finish.
The raffle was held at the bar of Worthing Football Club with prizes graciously donated by local firms & businesses. Further money was also raised by volunteers carrying out face and nail painting.
To date approximately £1,950 has been raised which is still rising!
The day was a great success, enjoyed by all, especially Ivan who was overwhelmed by the occasion.
We would like to thank everybody who came along & showed their support.
