Regent's Park Community College
Pupils from Regent's Park Community College in Southampton held a cake sale to raise money for people affected by cancer.
On Monday 11th June, we held a cake sale for Macmillan Cancer Support. It was an absolutely amazing day. We got a huge response from our school, as we managed to raise £100!
The team was made up of 5 girls; Patrycja Resko, Angelika Pancerz, Shabana Noor, Kayleigh Sinnott and Meherun Rahman. Meherun said:
"Half the school were away, because it was Enrichment Day and most of the pupils and teachers were on school trips. We nearly sold all our cakes, and we had customers all throughout the day. We also did announcements through lesson time, asking for voluntary donations and giving out information leaflets to raise awareness. We were yelling down corridors and the school canteen to attract customers, eventually teachers joined in as well, to persuade students and their colleagues. We also took up a tray full of cakes to sell to some of our busy teachers in the staff room. We also managed to get voluntary donations from our family and relatives.
"The whole experience was fantastic; we got lots of encouragement and help from friends, family, teachers and also Macmillan. A big Thank you to everyone!"
