The Solent Scrapbooking club

Gosport ladies raise £500 in memory of friend.

The Solent Scrapbooking club tell us how they helped Macmillan with pieces of scrap material!

Jenny Ashworth, one of the founder members of the Solent Scrapbooking club died as a result of leukaemia on 16th May 2006.  She asked her friend of 32 years, Lesley Crowe to have all her scrapbooking supplies. Members of the club and the scrapbook community donated items for the sale table and these were added to Jenny's supplies.

20 scrap-bookers assembled at St Faith's church hall, Tribe Road, Gosport at 10am for a fun filled day!  They each brought along food to share and there was a gorgeous array of homemade cakes, cookies, puddings and savouries.

They had a raffle which included a year's subscription for a scrapbook magazine.  Entrance for the day was £5 per person, the scrapbook club paid for the hall hire, so all the entrance money went to the charity.  Further money was raised from the raffle, and from the sale table.

They raised a total of £500 which was a fantastic result!
