Watership Down Walk raises over 25,000 for people affected by cancer
Over 400 people walked the 7.5mile or 12.5mile routes across Watership Down, near Kingsclere, on 4 May this year to raise money for people affected by cancer.
The money is still rolling in from the sponsorship raised, but the total already exceeds over £25,000.
Community Fundraiser, Rob Lawrenson was delighted with the turnout on the day:
'This year's event built on the success of last year and we hope to double the income to help even more people living with cancer.'
Richard Adams, author of the book which took its inspiration from the area was there to start off the walkers, as was Sir George Young who walked the route last year.
We have already set the date for 2009, so book in Sunday 3 May into your diaries for next year.
