Derek Peters
Derek Peters was diagnosed with Cancer back in 2003 and has been on the long road to recovery since, which has been made easier with the support from friends and colleagues.
He is undertaking a Macmillan fundraising challenge to raise the awareness of Macmillan in general, but, in particular the service and funding they provide on the Isle of Man. The challenge is to walk 100KM across the Sahara desert in 9 days and is due to start on the 23rd February 2008.

"This walk is particularly poignant at the moment with 2 of my dearest friends and colleagues going through this painful journey, and they will need and get the support without question from the Macmillan team. I hope and want to make a difference to their journey and by raising money for Macmillan, I feel I am repaying the support they gave me and ensuring that the support is there now and in the future."
