The money you raise will help us provide more information to people affected by cancer.

The Isle of Wight benefits from a dedicated team of Macmillan cancer nurse specialists. However, we still need to improve our services; the Island has the highest proportion of the UK's elderly residents and an increasing number of people being diagnosed with cancer.

Through the incredible generosity of people on the Isle of Wight and surrounding areas, people living with cancer on the island have benefited from the care of five cancer nurse specialists, Macmillan patient grants and a Palliative Care Project which cost £100,000. This is particularly important as it allows cancer patients to remain at home for as long as possible, receiving care there rather than at hospital.

The Macmillan Appeal for the Isle of Wight is to raise £140,000 to put into place two cancer nurse specialists. Both posts will be based at St Mary's Hospital in Newport and offer people living with cancer on the Isle of Wight vital medical advice and emotional support.
