Belvoir Castle horse ride Raises a spectacular 7,400

The Duke and Duchess of Rutland have again kindly allowed Macmillan's Melton Mowbray Committee to hold their annual sponsored horse ride at the beautiful Belvoir Castle. The event raised £7,400.

Organised once again by Melton Mowbray Committee members Christine Griffin and Brenda Greaves, this annual event raised a grand total of £7,400.

200 riders took part, on a route through the magnificent grounds and surroundings of Belvoir Castle. The 15 mile route through the glorious Belvoir Estate was made possible thanks to the generosity of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland.

Alison Smith from Macmillan said:

'The weather was kind, and a truly wonderful time was had by all. The committee have pulled off another fabulous event'.

Dates for next year have still to be arranged, but pencil it in your diary and keep watching our 'local events' section.
