Sue Stevenson raises over 125,000 in memory of her son, Paul

Paul died in November 2004 after battling Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.

Paul would have celebrated his 21st birthday in March 2006, and so it was on that date that Sue launched a fund in his name, to raise enough money to pay for a specialist Macmillan nurse for teenagers in Leicestershire.

"Paul would have benefited so much from a Macmillan nurse to look after his age group. We decided to raise the funds in order to pay for one. I thought it would take me 3 years, but I just didn't factor in the huge support we have had, so we have almost reached our target in only 2 years which is just amazing. "

Sue is planning to celebrate the 2 year anniversary with an auction evening at Scraptoft Golf Club, where both the Men and the Ladies Captains have chosen the Paul Stevenson Memorial Fund as their charity of the year.

The auction evening will be held at Scraptoft Golf Club, in Beeby Road, Scraptoft, on Saturday, March 15  2008 at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £7.50 which includes a two-course buffet and live music.
