In celebration of receiving her 15 year service award from Macmillan Cancer Support, Sue Chaloner from Blacon and a member of Macmillan's Chester Fundraising Committee has decided to take part in Macmillan's ultimate 'blagging' fundraising event and become a convict for the day.
After raising £750 together with The Magazine pub in Wallasey for Macmillan Cancer Support in May, Mabel Robinson, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in February of this year, is hoping to encourage others to get involved with and support the charity that she is grateful to for the support given to her throughout her cancer journey.
On 21 June at The Great Hall, Liverpool Hope University, 75 former pupils of Jill Simms, former Head of Music at St Julie's High School in Woolton, Liverpool paid tribute to their former music teacher with a reunion concert. Jill died of cancer last year.
Weatherhead High School silently raised £2,150 for Macmillan Cancer support and hope others will walk to raise more.
Macmillan Cancer Support's bring a pound to work day in association with Chester's Dee 106.3 raised over £1,950!
Well done and thank you to all of our superheroes who took part in the 100ft abseil in Liverpool City Centre on 30 March 2008.
