First ever world championship for Macmillan
The Macmillan Coracle Relay Race achieved world championship status this year on 8 June.
World Champions!
Last year's race proved so popular that this year 48 teams took part, including a team of MPs. The Fyrnwy Vets however won the day and can now proudly call themselves 'world champions'.
Sponsorship money is still coming in, but we are hopeful that around £25,000 will have been raised for Macmillan. It was worth everyone getting soaked in the river Severn, whether intentionally or not!
Feedback from spectators and competitors has been fantastic and everyone enjoyed the Pimms tent, hog roast and other refreshments as well as all the entertainment! Who will be the next world champions? Watch this space!
