The antidote to Beijing from the heart of the countryside
The World's First National Forest Maize Maze Agri-lympics took place on Saturday 16 August! Teams competed for the coveted Golden Wellie in various farm-related track and field events in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, raising £2,200.
The National Forest Maze is situated in a small village just outside Burton on Trent called Tatenhill. In 2004 Postern House Farm opened a Maize Maze for the first time.
On Saturday it was a hive of activity when 8 teams of 8 took part in the Agri-lympics. Tractor pulling, corn javelin, welly race, and corn on the cob eating were just some of the events. All the teams were cheered on by supporters.
Everybody really enjoyed the day, which was all made possible through the great organisation of Tom Robinson, Cathy Luffman, and the staff from the National Maze – and the rain held off as well!
The money raised, £2,200, is a great amount and Macmillan Cancer Support are extremely grateful.
