  • World's Biggest Coffee Morning Friday, 26 September 2008
    World's Biggest Coffee Morning is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK, with an estimated 2 million people raising their mugs for Macmillan last year.
  • The Make a Difference Green Ball Saturday, 08 November 2008
    Supporters of Macmillan Cancer Support will attend this high profile glamorous evening and help raise much needed funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The money you raise will help us provide more information to people affected by cancer.

We are currently fundraising for: 

  • a Family Support Practitioner providing help and support to patients and their families across West Suffolk, based at St Nicholas' Hospice in Bury St Edmunds
  • a GP facilitator working on a rotation scheme and based in palliative care at St Nicholas' Hospice in Bury St Edmunds
  • a Macmillan information services manager providing patient information, advice and support at various outreach centres throughout the region as well as in the Information Suite at the new Macmillan unit
  • Macmillan grants to ease the worries of cancer patients who may be experiencing financial difficulty because of their illness. Last year approximately £100,000 was distributed throughout the county.
  • a Dietician based at Ipswich hospital, helping patients with specialist nutritional advice, assisting patients in coping with their treatment and supporting them with their recovery.
  • a Dietetic Assistant based at the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds providing nutritional advice and support for people with cancer.
