Jon Griffiths lives in Surrey and this year he joined Team Macmillan for the London Marathon 2007.
"In December 2001 my girlfriend's father and my good friend passed away after a long battle with Cancer. It was a naturally distressing and upsetting time however one of the shining lights throughout the whole experience was the incredible support he and his family received from the amazing Macmillan nurses. Seeing what they did in the last few weeks of his life, made me vow to one day try and repay their kindness and assistance. I say repay for lack of a better word as you cannot ever "repay" such actions. I knew that I would never be able to match what they did, but I wanted to make a gesture, however large or small I could manage, just to say thank you to Macmillan."
