Fashion, footy and fundraising its the new rock roll!
A glittering fashion and footy event has given a six-figure boost to two local causes.
Cruise sponsored Fashion Kicks 2006, the brainchild of Newcastle United captain Shay Given and his wife Jane, raised in excess £271,000 which will be split between Macmillan Cancer Tyneside and Shay’s very own Goalkeeping Foundation, which is dedicated to assisting the region’s young goalkeeping hopefuls.
The sell-out event, held at St. James’ Park on Monday night, was a truly star studded affair with 13 of United’s top players taking to the catwalk alongside professional models and, at Shay’s personal invitation, Irish superstars Westlife played live and exclusive to the 500+ audience.
