Siobhan Fitzgerald

Siobhan Fitzgerald was diagnosed with lymphoma in January of 2007.

When she was given the results of her biopsy Siobhan felt like she was 'on the outside looking in on this poor girl and her mum in a room'.

It was at this point that Siobhan's Macmillan nurse came on the scene, instantly putting Siobhan 'at ease' with her information, reassurance and cuddles.

In no time at all Siobhan felt that she had found a 'lifelong friend' who was never too busy to answer her endless stream of questions.

With her treatment at an end Siobhan now feels she has a future and a second chance, remarking that she is 'not going to waste a minute of it'.

True to her word Siobhan helped organise the Allied Irish Ball at her work place which raised £30,000 for Macmillan.

She has also been interviewed on the radio, given talks and presentations and has agreed to be interviewed on film for the Macmillan Conference this year.

There's no stopping this girl!
