BP McKeefry complete the Belfast Marathon in style!
Macmillan Cancer Support would like to thank a very special group of runners who completed the Belfast Marathon on 5 May this year to raise money to support local cancer patients in Northern Ireland.
The runners: Mark Brown, Micheal Bothwell, Ronan Bothwell, Edward Deighan, Julie Dougle, Peter Esler, Ian Lynch, Ciaran Kearney, Darren Kearney, Dympna Kearney, Linda Lockhart, Stephen McFerran, Dermot McKeague, Brenda McKeefry, Conor Quinn, Fintan Walsh and Sean White were from BP McKeefry Limited and Crossland Tankers Limited, a Swatragh based group of companies who have over 30 years experience in Bulk Liquid Transport and Road Tanker Manufacture.
The relay teams and two marathon runners raised the fantastic amount of £5387.33 which will be used to help build a new £2.1 million palliative care unit at Antrim Area Hospital. This new unit will house the first specialist palliative care beds located within the NHS in Northern Ireland and is due to open at the end of 2010.
A further donation of £1300 was also received by Macmillan in the memory of the late Brian McKeefry.
