The money you raise will help us provide more information to people affected by cancer.

Welcome to the South of Scotland homepage for Dumfries and Galloway, Borders, Lanarkshire and the Lothians. Our aim is to work closely with local people, raising money to provide services for those living with cancer, and their families, in the south of Scotland.

Macmillan is dedicated to helping to provide the best possible support and care to people affected by cancer. Your help allows us to fund developments in our work and other important services such as training for Macmillan medical staff, grants for people living with cancer and information services for all members of the public.

Across the South of Scotland, our strategies for cancer care will provide a range of buildings, new medical posts and services to strengthen our existing base.

We are currently raising money in the following areas:

  • Dumfries and Galloway for a welfare benefits project, information centre manager, Macmillan lead nurse, Macmillan nurse, Macmillan clinical psychology services, Macmillan grants.
  • East Lothian for Macmillan grants, information and education and Macmillan health professionals, also the Macmillan Cancer Line
  • West Lothian for Macmillan grants, information and education and Macmillan health professionals, also the Macmillan Cancer Line
  • in the Borders to fund a new permanent MRI Scanner at the Borders General Hospital in Melrose
  • in Lanarkshire for 2 Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialists and a specialist pharmacist, patient grants and education.
