Leading cancer charity, Macmillan Cancer Support, in conjunction with Debenhams of Cardiff, will be hosting another major fashion event, following on from the success of previous years. This year’s event should prove to be even bigger with Julien Macdonald showing some of his Haute Couture range.

Jeff Banks will return to host this year’s show which is being held at Rhydycar Leisure Centre on Thursday 10 May 2007 at 7.30pm.  Those lucky enough to get hold of the limited number of tickets will enjoy, at first hand, Julien Macdonald’s very special dresses as well as the new 2007 Summer collections from the Designer at Debenhams ranges, including clothes designed by Julien Macdonald, Pierce II Fionda, Jasper Conran, Betty Jackson, John Rocha, to name but a few.

There will be a host of celebrities from TV, including ITV & BBC Newsreaders Lucy Owen and Sian Lloyd, Stuart Cable modelling the wonderful designs, and from the world of sport, Cardiff Blue’s players Rhys Williams, Robin Sowden-Taylor, Jamie Robinson and Merthyr’s own Robert Sidoli, plus two more to be announced.  Joining them on the catwalk will be a number of local women who have all been affected by breast cancer.  Make up will be by Dior and hair by Hairport design team at Merthyr Tydfil.

Liz Cole, Fundraising Manager, said “This will be the fourth year we have held the fashion show in the Merthyr area, which has always proven to be such a huge success for us.  We are delighted to present another stunning show of up to the minute fashion and are so fortunate to have the support of Julien Macdonald and Jeff Banks again this year”

The money raised form this wonderful event will further support cancer services in the local area.  Tickets are priced at £12.50 and will be available from the Macmillan Merthyr Committee, Hairport Salon. Merthyr Tydfil (01685 722050) or from Macmillan Cancer Support (01656 867965).
