Sian relaxes with a cup of coffee and Welsh cream tea at New House Hotel, Thornhill, Cardiff.
The BBC Wales Today presenter is backing Macmillan's World's Biggest Coffee Morning and she is hoping more people then ever will join in and raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Sian says she wants more people to get involved because of her own experience with Macmillan:
'Our family has a strong connection with Macmillan. When I was young, my grandfather became ill and moved in with us and we were helped by the first Macmillan nurse in Wrexham. She was a real support for my mum who was caring for my grandfather as well as three young children.'
Sian's mum, Anne, is also a dedicated supporter of the charity. She helped set up the volunteer committee in Wrexham and Sian says she would often be recruited for events when she was in school.
'I have stood collecting outside supermarkets all over Wrexham and appeared in fashion shows and helped out at events organised by my mother. Mum regularly takes part in World's Biggest Coffee Morning, staging it in her house and I hope I'll be able to pop up there on the day.'
Sian, who was born in Bangor and raised in Wrexham is a regular face on TV but she actually first qualified as a solicitor, working in Hong Kong and London, before feeling the pull of home and a new career.
'I just thought it was time to come back to Wales and I quickly got a job on Marcher Sound, the local radio station. I then moved to Radio Wales and eventually on to TV. I have been at the BBC for ten years, now and it is the perfect job. As well as presenting in the studio I still get out and about making documentaries and reporting around Wales.'
Sian is also kept busy at home thanks to her son Sebastian who is nearly three. Sian is also keen for him to speak Welsh.
'My father speaks Welsh and I went to a Welsh primary school and both my husband and I would like Sebastian to be bilingual.'
But despite her busy schedule Sian says she will make time to join in with the World's Biggest Coffee Morning.
'It is amazing to see how the charity has grown in the last 20 years and it's vital that people like my mum, as a carer, and grandfather get the help they need. Macmillan provides so many services to people affected by cancer and their families and carers – they really are a god send.'
The 2008, on Friday 26 September, will be the 18th World's Biggest Coffee Morning. Last year, people all over Wales raised almost £300,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. This year the challenge is to top that with even more events, so we're now looking for people and businesses to register their events.
