Enjoy a fun, family walk along the Lymm Heritage Trail and explore the beautiful heritage of this picturesque village. Along the way, you will be able to savour the beautiful countryside and take in such highlights as the Trans Pennine Trail, Lymm Dam, the Bridgewater Canal and Slitten Gorge.

How to get there
Enter Lymm on the A56. Turn left at Brookfield Road if you are coming from Warrington or turn right if you are coming from Manchester. After you pass the library and church on your right, turn left into Whitbarrow Road. At Lymm Hotel turn left into Statham Avenue and the Ranger Centre is on your right. 

Registration
Three and a half mile walk – registration will be open from 11.30am – 12.00 midday.
This walk starts at 12.00 midday.

Ten mile walk – registration will be open from 10.30am – 11.00am.
This walk starts at 11.00am

Walk duration
The three and a half mile walk will take approximately two hours to complete and the ten mile walk will take approximately four and a half hours to complete.

Challenging aspects
The three and a half mile walk is suitable for most abilities.
The ten mile walk is challenging and not suitable for children. Part of both walks are along a canal, so extra care needs to be taken.

Suitability for pushchairs and/or wheelchairs
This walk is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.

Suitability for dogs
Dogs are welcome on this walk, but must be kept on a lead at all times.

Car parking
There is a car park available at the starting point at the Ranger Centre, though spaces are limited. There is road side parking available.

Toilets
There are toilet facilities available at the start and finish of the walk as well as at various points along both walking paths.

Refreshments & picnicking
Bottles of water will be provided at the start of the walk.
Three and a half mile walk – opportunity to have a picnic around Lymm Dam.
Ten mile walk – there is a picnic area with tables at Dunham Massey at the six mile point.
Please bring your own picnic.
There are also a number of cafes and pubs along both routes. 

Children's activities
There will be a quiz for children to take part in on the walk.

Don't forget to bring
Appropriate footwear and dress according to weather conditions as the route is exposed. Please bring your mobile phone in case of emergencies.

Other information
A goody bag including a drink and light snack will be provided at the finish line. A photographer will be there to take photos of you crossing the finishing line. A DVD will be made of the walk and last year's DVD will be on sale.
