Walk duration
The two and a half mile walk will take approximately an hour to complete and the eight mile walk will take approximately four hours to complete.

Challenging aspects
Suitable for all abilities.

Suitability for pushchairs and/or wheelchairs
Both routes are unsuitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs. The walk path consists of gravel and grass paths, rough surfaces and has kissing gates and stiles.

Suitability for dogs
Please keep dogs on a lead for the walk. Should you wish to explore the House and gardens after the walk, please note that dogs are not permitted in the House, gardens and Venture Playground except guide and hearing dogs.

Car parking
There is a car park available free of charge at the main visitor entrance.

Public transport
Penshurst train station is approximately two and a half miles away and the walk to Penshurst Place is via main roads without footpaths. Leigh train station is a similar distance with some footpaths along the way. We recommend those going by train to go to Tonbridge station and take a taxi as there is a rank there (distance is approximately six miles). Unfortunately there are no bus routes that operate on a Sunday.

Toilets
There are toilet facilities available at the start and finish of the walk.

Refreshments & picnicking
Bottles of water will be provided at the start of the walk.
A picnic area can be found in the Venture Playground, near the finishing point with a kiosk selling tea, coffee and ice-cream. Please bring your own picnic and picnic rug.
There is also the Garden Tea Room next to the House, which can be accessed by paying the reduced entrance fee.

Children's activities
There will be a quiz for children to take part in en-route.

Don't forget to bring
Comfortable walking shoes and dress according to the weather conditions.
