 We cycle to change lives

Join Macmillan for this fantastic and tough challenge and venture where the tourists rarely go, while helping to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.

Cycle cross country from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean, through tropical farmland and over mountain ranges. El Grandisimo is guaranteed to leave your legs aching and your mind racing.

Starting on the east coast we'll pass through dense jungle, into the cloud forests of the Sierra Madre and up to the highest point of the ride at 3000m. It's a journey of strenuous climbs, long dusty roads and exciting descents through a fascinating mixture of traditional and colonial cultures and on to our ultimate goal-the beautiful beaches of the Pacific coast.

Here at Macmillan we understand what it takes to train for and take on such a challenge. That's why we'll be there for you from the start with a dedicated overseas challenge team providing both fundraising and training advice. We'll prepare you for the challenge with our newsletters and briefing meeting, support you throughout the 13 day challenge and be on hand to celebrate with you as you conquer this epic achievement.

By joining Macmillan, you will be helping us to provide immediate practical, emotional, medical and financial support that will change the lives of people living with cancer in the UK today. The challenge will be tough at times but you'll return with a real sense of pride in your achievement and you'll have found yourself 60 new friends!

'For a complete non-cyclist 10 months ago I feel an immense sense of achievement. I feel privileged to have shared the company of so many spirited people who put others before themselves for such a great cause. The energy and goodwill generated by those who have taken part will be something I will remember for a very long time.'  Belinda, Macmillan Challenge participant 2007

So, if you feel inspired to take part in the challenge of a lifetime then now is the time to do so!
